Microwaving Fish Really Does Work..
There are two methods of getting great results when cooking fish in a microwave oven both use the principle of steaming. Fish can be cooked from Room Temperature, the Fridge or the Freezer and a simple guide per 450g is 4-5 minutes, 5-6 minutes or 6-9 minutes. All three are faster and healthier than the average takeaway. Getting it right is not as difficult as you might think. You are looking for a flaky flesh, and if you stick to the basic timings for the type of fish you're using then you will get excellent results
Place the fish in a dish brush with oil or butter, add some seasoning (a little Paprika goes a long way) Cover with cling film (other brands are available) pierce a couple of times with a knife, cook and serve.
Ask your fish monger to pop the fish in one of our steaming bags. When you are ready put a little butter or oil and seasoning in the bag, seal it and put it in the microwave. Leave the bag to rest for a couple of minutes before serving and basking in the glory of the comments received from you're friends or loved ones. Explaining, "Oh it was nothing really; just something that my Granny taught me, the secret really is using salted butter and a tiny bit of fresh corriander"..
